John Vetterli is a partner at White & Case and serves as regional section head of the Americas for the firm’s capital markets section. He represents issuers, underwriters and others in all capital market matters. He also advises foreign and domestic issuers on corporate advisory and compliance issues, including those related to SEC regulations and disclosure obligations. Based in New York, Vetterli was resident in São Paulo from 2010-2013. In the Mexican market, Vetterli has gained increasing recognition for his capital markets work on behalf of issuers and underwriters. He has represented an array of high-profile clients, including Grupo Financiero Banorte, the third-largest financial services group in Mexico, on its $2.56bn international equity follow-on offering. He has represented state-owned owner and operator of the subway system in Santiago, Chile, Empresa de Transporte de Pasajeros Metro on $1.8bn in aggregate value of agency, bank and bond financings for the construction of new subway lines and improvements to existing lines. He also represented Citigroup and Credit Suisse as global coordinators, and Deutsche Bank and Santander as bookrunners, in the offer and sale of $950m 8.375% senior secured notes due 2020 by Offshore Drilling Holding.
