Nicolas Grabar’s practice focuses on international capital markets and securities regulation and sees him providing regular representation to large publicly-listed companies. He plays a primary role in Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton’s work for Fortune 100 companies, leading Mexican and Brazilian businesses, sovereigns, and global investment banks. A capital markets giant, Grabar has been advising on IPOs by Latin American companies for over 25 years and has worked extensively with Mexican issuers such as América Móvil. He is currently acting as regular counsel to the United Mexican States, including advising in its investment grade bond offering in December 2014, which contained Mexico’s amended collective action and ranking clauses. He also advised in Southern Copper Corporation’s $2bn notes offering as well as recognising Opsimex in its inaugural debt offering. Grabar joined the firm in 1984 and became a partner in 1991. From 1985 to 1989, he was resident in its Paris office.
