New York-based M&A partner Paola Lozano serves as head of Skadden’s Spanish language corporate practice, overseeing global client relationships and transactions, and maintaining a special emphasis on Spain and Latin America. She is particularly active in the financial services sector but represents a variety of clients in mergers, acquisitions, dispositions, private equity and other corporate matters, with special emphasis on cross-border transactions. A native of Colombia, Lozano is well-versed in Latin American deals. She advised Citigroup on the sale of its consumer banking and credit card businesses, via international auctions in a number of jurisdictions, acted for Deutsche Bank on its sale of Deutsche Bank Argentina, and on its proposed sale of Deutsche Bank Mexico. Outside of the financial services sector, Lozano advised Grupo México on various high-value cross-border transactions, and assisted Capital International with its investments in Mexico. Mobile Telecommunications Technologies also instructed her on the sale of a stake in its subsidiary Mtel Latin America, which had operations in nine Latin American countries including Mexico. Aside from these and many other representations, Lozano has contributed variously to the legal profession as a thought leader and industry commentator. She is also a member of the Board of Directors of the Goddard Riverside Community Centre.
