An impressive New York-based associate, Veronica Rodriguez is a key member of the firm’s illustrious Latin America practice. She has been part of the team on a string of headline Mexico deals, including a number in the real estate sector. In 2017, she worked under partners Michael Fitzgerald and Joy Gallup in advising Gruma, the world’s largest tortilla and corn flour producer, on its $400m term and revolving credit facility provided by a syndicate of banks. In other headline Mexico deals in recent years, she was also part of the team that advised GE Capital on the sale GE Real Estate Mexico’s interest as lender in a $2bn portion of its first-seller financing loan facility in Mexico, which was sold to a special purpose vehicle established by HSBC. She and the team had previously represented GE Capital on the $3bn seller financing loan facility, one of the largest ever real estate financings in Latin America. In another landmark deal, Rodriguez was part of a team that advised FHipo, the first Mexican mortgage REIT, on its ground-breaking $633m IPO.
