A partner in the New York office, and part of an impressive generation of younger Milbank partners who are already established names in the market, Roland Estevez has substantial experience representing financial institutions, multi-national companies and developers in energy (including renewables), infrastructure and mining matters throughout Latin America.

A member of the firm’s project, energy and infrastructure finance group, recent work highlights have included advising leading growth markets investor Actis in its acquisition of InterGen’s Mexican portfolio of businesses for a consolidated enterprise value of $1.256bn; the lenders in the financing of Jinko Solar’s 130 MW Viborillas Solar Park in Mexico; and Macquarie on the acquisition, development and financing of Norte III, a 907 MW combined-cycle gas turbine power plant in Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua, Mexico. Estevez has worked with a range of international and Latin American clients on major power plant financings (specifically recently in Mexico and Colombia).

Other significant work includes representation of financial institutions in major drillship, semi-submersible and FPSO transactions, again in Mexico (in addition to Brazil); and advice to financial institutions throughout the region on various significant mining projects.
