As the chief legal officer of the corporation, James Christian Snr provides legal advice and counsel in a wide range of legal areas including corporate governance, contracts, intellectual property, real estate leasing and acquisition, taxation, gaming laws and regulations, administrative law, ant-money laundering and countering financing of terrorism, and employment law and health benefits. In addition, he is responsible for ensuring that all corporate operations in all jurisdictions in which the corporation operates are in strict compliance with national and local laws, rules and regulations governing the corporation’s operations and gaming services delivery. In carrying out his responsibility for providing legal counsel in our on-boarding of corporate human resources, he is responsible for ensuring that all corporate hiring, promotion and employee evaluation processes as well as the corporation’s provision of employee benefits to its employees is done within the confines of all applicable statutes, rules and regulations. In this multi-faceted position, he is also responsible for coordinating the work of outside legal counsel for the corporation, including their representation of the corporation in any litigation; supervising administration of the corporation’s compliance programs, and providing legal counsel to the corporation’s General Managers in Antigua and Barbuda, Puerto Rico, Barbados, Guyana, St. Kitts and Nevis, Sint Maarten, the Dominican Republic and St. Lucia.
