What are the most significant cases and transactions that your legal team has recently been involved in?
The Liberty Legal Team supported the acquisition of AT&T operations in PR and USVI, the establishment of a completely new core and mobile IT stack, and the migration of more than a million lines from the Seller systems to our brand-new systems. More recently, we acquired Boost spectrum and customers in PR and USVI.
Which recent political, economic or regulatory changes have impacted your work the most in the past year?
The telecommunications regulatory framework is changing rapidly due to the fast-paced development of information services and the internet of things. Keeping up with the implementation of all the new or modified obligations, in addition to the day-to-day requirements, necessitates a significant amount of work.
How does your legal team collaborate with other departments within the company
My legal team is an integral part of the company, acting as business partners rather than just external advisers. We don’t view Liberty as our client; instead, we work alongside other departments to provide legal support and guidance from a legal perspective. We approach our work in a creative, innovative, and passionate way, ensuring that legal considerations are seamlessly integrated into the business’s objectives.
