Focus on: My career

Camila Chirichella Costa Godfrey is an associate general counsel for Capgemini Australia and New Zealand. Before joining Capgemini in august 2016, Camila was a senior associate within the corporate and commercial team of Macpherson Kelly Lawyers, and prior to that, Holding Redlich, both in Sydney. Camila commenced her legal career in Brazil in 1999 working within the legal department of IBM Brazil, and then worked for eight years as an in-house senior legal consultant for Embratel before her move to Australia in 2009.  

Throughout her career Camila has specialised in ICT and IP, being involved in structuring, drafting, negotiating and providing strategic legal advice with commercial and practical acumen for large deals with carriers, providers and customers from a procurement, partnership and sales perspective. 

Camila strongly believes in the partnership of the legal function as a trusted advisor to business areas and in the power of building relationships and close collaboration with all areas of the business. With that approach, Camila has acquired deep insight into the business, its operations and processes, and often her advice assists the other business areas in identifying and mitigating risks and extends beyond the purely legal aspects of any deal. 

Camila holds a Diploma in Law and a Master of Laws from the University of Sydney, and given her Brazilian background, a Bachelor of Law (Cum Laude) from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro – UFRJ and a Master Business Administration degree from Getúlio Vargas Foundation – FGV, in Brazil. 

Camila is a keen traveller and loves exploring new cultures and places and learning new languages. She enjoys spending time with her family and beautiful baby girl, Gabriela, and (in the ever rarer free times!), reading and watching TV series and movies, and as she is from Rio de Janeiro, spending time in the sunshine by the beach, or at home or travelling around the world.
