Focus on: My career

Jeremy Weeks is an IT commercial lawyer, with over 10 years’ experience working in the in-house environment. He currently serves as principle legal counsel at NTT Australia, where his focus is negotiating and drafting contracts that facilitate the supply of IT goods and services across NTT’s broad client base. His interests lie in complex managed service offerings, such as cyber security services, network transformation services and IaaS arranges that accommodate “off balance sheet” accounting principles. However, technical legal skills are only a small part of being a good lawyer, and Jeremy highly values broader collaboration with the business and legal team to find better ways of working. He places a particular focus on understanding operational practices and their limitations, and how his role can assist to emphasis the positives and dampen the negatives. Education is a lifelong pursuit, and Jeremy has recently completed a qualification in corporate governance and risk management to shape an executive level understanding of business decision-making and strategy execution.
