Justine Gainsford is associate general counsel at Pacific Equity Partners where she provides wide-ranging legal and compliance support to the business and takes a leading role in the firm’s fundraising and fund establishment. 

Justine is an experienced funds lawyer, having commenced her career in the financial services and funds management team at DLA Piper New Zealand, where she advised a broad spectrum of clients on the establishment of new and innovative products, regulatory compliance, governance and legal risk management. Justine later moved to Sydney to join the Funds, Super and Wealth team at Allens where she was a senior associate, before joining Pacific Equity Partners as its sole in-house legal function in 2022. While at Allens, Justine advised both sponsors and investors in respect of wholesale funds and registered managed investment schemes across a range of alternative asset classes, including private equity, infrastructure and real estate.
