Could you tell us a bit about your significant successes in your role? 

I’ve been part of FINSA’s team since I graduated from college, almost 6 years ago, and my job involves working with projects involving corporate law, financing, capital markets and compliance. I think my success as head of the corporate and compliance legal department comes from a few things. First, from having the opportunity to work with my previous boss who taught me everything I know and always trusted my judgement, which was always encouraging for me. Second, I have been able to adapt to constant changes and having a boss and team I can rely on. But most importantly, as I’m still learning, my on-going success will always be the result of perseverance and hard work. 

In your opinion, what are the qualities and skills needed to form a strong legal team? 

For me, in terms of qualities, I believe that it is important to be an independent learner, to be driven and possess an ability to work with other people, particularly business partners. Regarding skills, it’s essential to be a good communicator, to have emotional intelligence and to be capable of working, constantly, under pressure. 

What is the biggest risk to your industry or organisation and how are you contributing to prepare your organisation for this? 

The business for industrial parks is always changing, with regulatory and economic issues constantly updating. The biggest risk is to comply without affecting our stakeholders and investors. As ESG policies continue to grow and have a bigger impact on companies around the world, applying these non-financial factors to identify material risks is always a challenge and with the help of my business partners, we are constantly analysing and improving our compliance policies, that will guide and lead the way to better and more innovating practices, boosting economic development and sustainability.
