Could you tell us a bit about your significant successes in your role?  

We implemented administrative legal control and follow-up tools for the contracts area, as well as result-oriented work schemes, and it has allowed our legal team to play a key role in helping the company have a clearer and more complete vision of how to do business in these modern times, while also in providing greater legal certainty and in complying with current global standards. Having a robust legal-contracts structure in its core processes, the lawyers’ training, and working closely together with the operational and commercial areas, has also helped the group consolidate and expand its business across borders in a significant way. 

In your opinion, what are the qualities and skills needed to form a strong legal team? 

Effective communication, establishing clear rules and processes, implementing a results-oriented system, developing models for understanding the group´s needs and plans, as well as a team of trained lawyers, will undoubtedly form a solid legal team. 

What is the biggest risk to your industry and organisation and how are you contributing to prepare your organisation for this? 

The pharmaceutical industry is a dynamic and fast-paced sector, with continuous changes coming from the local regulatory environment and global public health policies. As a result, maintaining legal structures up to date contributes significantly to the organisation’s welfare and has a social impact. Likewise, unusual public health situations, such as the COVID-19 pandemic, have helped us develop tools, and has allowed us to take a different approach to the challenges faced, seeking as a team, innovative solutions and converting them into opportunities for improvement. This way contributing to better corporate-legal practice in the sector at a global level.
