Karen Orivio graduated from La Salle University and has a specialisation in intellectual property law, a specialisation in Amparo Trial and a master’s degree in industrial property law, copyright, and new technologies, all at the Universidad Panamericana.

She worked for more than ten years in law firms specialising in copyright and intellectual property law, pharmaceutical patent litigation, consulting, and administrative and regulatory procedures related to the pharmaceutical industry before the Mexican Health Authority (COFEPRIS), the Mexican Patent and Trademark Office (IMPI). At Novartis Mexico, Karen has worked as a legal senior manager for more than four years providing legal services to the various business units, especially reviewing and implementing product protection strategies, brandmax, business development and licensing contracts, strategic alliances with partners, regulatory and quality issues, clinical research and more.
