Marlon Eduardo Bernal Bravo
Legal manager | RLH Properties
Could you tell us a bit about your significant successes in your role?
I have participated and led my company’s legal team in the construction projects of the Rosewood Mayakoba, Banyan Tree Mayakoba, Fairmont Mayakoba, One & Only Mandarina and currently Rosewood Mandarina hotels in the Riviera Nayarit. The support I provide to my organisation is summarised in ensuring the regulatory compliance required for each construction project and, where appropriate, the handling of litigation and arbitration.
In your opinion, what are the qualities and skills needed to form a strong legal team?
Communication, adaptability, collaboration, focus on objectives and feedback are all crucial qualities for a strong legal team. Communication is especially important, as it allows us all to feel confident sharing ideas with each other, leading to more productive work.
What is the biggest risk to your industry or organisation and how are you contributing to prepare your organisation for this?
The possible non-compliance of contractors and suppliers is a particularly large risk to the organisation currently, with which I collaborate by designing efficient and clear strategies for prevention and recovery of guarantees.
