Could you tell us a bit about your significant successes in your role?
Successfully provided service on regulatory advice to the management and internal business areas on risk prevention and practical solutions to comply with local regulations for the sale and development of new products and digital services, such as the launch of the new Huawei D watch, this watch has functions to improve quality of life, such as ECG function.
Recognised internally by granting a merit award named the “Crisis Hero Award”, this award means to provide advice and preventive actions due to the US sanctions against Huawei and its impact on Mexico’s environment and business continuity.
During my four years in the company, I have been granted seven merit awards for special services such as advice and risk analysis for the launch in Mexico of the Huawei e-commerce site ESHOP in 2019.
Strong multidisciplinary skills, during the first two years at Huawei CBG Mexico, I was the only local lawyer in the business division, and I had the opportunity to provide service in different practices and business environments.
Success in my role means not only understanding the local legal environment; it means translating such regulatory environment to another culture and making it work to prevent legal irregularities in Mexico, such as regulations for developing new technologies in products and services; look at the future.
What is the biggest risk to your industry, and how are you contributing to prepare your organisation for this?
Mainly face new or strong sanctions from the US. My contribution has focused on having strong compliance awareness within the business division and with our clients. I have strong knowledge of the local regulatory environment, mainly regulations applicable to selling and launching new products and services in Mexico. Be ready to advise the management on developing new products and services to continue the business in Mexico and Latam region.
