Could you share an example of a time when you came up with an innovation that improved the way your legal team works and didn’t come at a huge cost?
I like things to be organised and I think members of your team should be able to access information and documents even when you are not around, that is way a simple chart storing basic information with links to documents was a cost-free and straightforward innovation that streamlined the work for everyone and provided clarity on workload.
What are some of the key developments (legal, geopolitical or otherwise) that have affected your business over the last year?
Fortunately, some of the issues that have impacted my work are related to the understanding that sustainability is not just a trend but a necessity and a cornerstone of business development.
How do you think the in-house legal role will evolve in the coming years?
This role has evolved quite well in recent years, and I believe it will continue to do so, considering the business world needs to have legal implications readily translated into their business plans.
Cristina started her career as a litigation lawyer immediately after graduation in a well reputed Romanian law firm. After several years as a litigator, Cristina made a bold move as an in-house lawyer in the litigation department of a world-wide utilities company. She enhanced her business acumen and gained a comprehensive understanding of the business needs through her roles in other two companies, including as legal manager, before taking on her current role overseeing legal operations across three divisions (paper, recycling and packaging) in three countries (Romania, Bulgaria and Greece).
