How do you approach managing legal aspects during periods of instability or crises, and how does your legal strategy align with the broader business strategy to ensure the organisation’s resilience?

I believe that the general counsel’s role during crises is extremely important in ensuring that legal advice is incorporated in the business strategy in order to effectively go through challenges brought by such periods of instability.

As a general counsel you need to stay informed and identify risks; educate employees, collaborate with management, advise and promote a compliance culture; understand business and support decisions; implement a crisis management plan.

All those actions will contribute to the resilience and long-term success of the company.

What emerging technologies do you see as having the most significant impact on the legal profession in the near future, and how do you stay updated on these developments?

Several emerging technologies seem to significantly impact the legal profession in the near future and I believe that the most important are artificial intelligence, which is increasingly used for legal research together with contract analysis, and can really boost efficiency in case management; legal tech platforms that bring solutions regarding document automation and also case management.

I try to stay updated regarding these developments by following industry publications, attending webinars and seeing case studies and reports from companies that already adopted these technologies.

I still believe that regardless of the increasing role of technology in the legal profession, a human touch remains a must for our profession.

Alexandru-Valentin Dinuţă is currently the legal and administrative manager for Amromco Energy, having more than 20 years of professional experience and expertise in the legal field for various industries, with an emphasis on oil and gas industry in the last 15 years where he grew through successive stages before his appointment in the manager position.

Prior to working at Amromco Energy, he was the legal advisor for Bilboard Media Adv, Cardinal Motors, Termoelectrica Ploiesti and Transport Auto Ploiesti 1, with the focus in providing legal support, advice and representation to minimise all potential legal risks for his employers.

He is committed and dedicated to offer professional advice with great attention to details on all matters and regardless their importance on the business environment, he seeks to ensure that the legal advice is foremost practical, clear and comprehensible taking into consideration the expectations and needs, in order to answer those needs and expectations in the most efficient manner. Alexandru is a member of Prahova County Legal Advisors College – member of the board; Prahova Bar – lawyer; Prahova Chamber of Commerce and Industry – arbitrator at the Commercial Arbitration Court; Romanian FPPG (Oil and Gas Employers’ Federation) – certified technical expert for the Upstream Commission.

He likes to stay fit, dynamic and competitive so in his free time he is practicing various sports or mountain hiking.
