Bio

Alina Dumitrascu is an Energy Lawyer, holding the position of Head of Legal and Corporate Affairs at PPC Group Romania, a leading electric utility company with operations in electricity generation, distribution, and the sale of advanced energy products and services.

Her leadership journey has encompassed senior roles in the public, private, and civic sectors, and she brings global experience, having been a lawyer for over 20 years in the energy sector. She is featured in the Legal 500 GC Powerlist.

Alina is also the author of the first children’s book that explains the Romanian Constitution in a playful manner through images and games, titled What is the Constitution? Play and find out! She is passionate about helping children understand their rights, ensuring they grow up in a “good society.”

Additionally, she is the founder of the Smartastic Lab initiative, an NGO that supports education on the rule of law, human rights, gender equality, and the empowerment of children in Romania. The NGO launched a constitutional literacy project called Start with the Right, which has been implemented in primary schools in Bucharest.

Aside from her work as an energy lawyer, Alina has a keen interest in legal innovation and technology. She embraces alternative models and technologies, reflecting on the future of law and the legal profession.

A firm believer in the power of communities, she also advocates for the importance of humour in leadership, believing that “we can do serious things without taking ourselves too seriously” and is energetic in all areas of life.
