How do you approach managing legal aspects during periods of instability or crises, and how does your legal strategy align with the broader business strategy to ensure the organisation’s resilience?
Experience under tensed circumstances revealed how important is it to have all the right processes in place and properly running, to be able to allocate resources to pressing, urgent matters, without affecting the legal services for essential areas. Thus, in our day-to-day business we focus on implementing and improving our ongoing legal processes, aiming to have a well-functioning, reliable internal mechanism, which allows the teams to also dedicate time for strategic planning and constant improvement. In times of crises, we count on having the experience and the right reflexes to focus on the most sensitive and relevant topics, as well as the know-how and expertise to deal with them promptly and efficiently. Close communication with our colleagues in charge of commercial decisions is always helping in directing the resources to the areas that are most relevant from business perspective.
In your opinion, what are the main trends that are salient in your country currently?
We are seeing an increase in the companies’ awareness and investments in CSR and ESG areas. Although most of the initial focus derived from regulatory requirements, the major players have come to realise the potential benefits in terms of corporate image, from clients to partners and investors. Another trend that will likely be around during the next years is the technological upgrade of the business flows and processes, by integrating the constant developments in AI. Finding the right pace for technological upgrades will probably making a difference in getting ahead of the competition.
