How do you approach managing legal aspects during periods of instability or crises, and how does your legal strategy align with the broader business strategy to ensure the organisation’s resilience?

I believe that a proactive attitude, flexibility and good communication are key elements in managing crisis situations.

The legal department is involved in identifying and assessing the risks that may arise during periods of instability or crisis and collaborates with the other departments of the company to minimise them. In a dynamic and complex industry such as electricity, it is crucial to closely monitor legislative or regulatory changes that may impact the company’s business and ensure that stakeholders are fully informed.

What emerging technologies do you see as having the most significant impact on the legal profession in the near future, and how do you stay updated on these developments?

In my opinion, artificial intelligence will have a significant impact on the legal professions. One of the biggest advantages of AI in legal practice is its ability to automate repetitive and time-consuming tasks, such as legal research and drafting legal documents. My team and I ran a project with IT specialists to develop and implement a platform to help us easily manage litigation and legal documents and streamline our work.

The implementation of this platform will also result in reduced paper consumption.

Attending conferences and seminars is essential to keep up to date with the technologies developed in the legal field.

How do you prioritise diversity and inclusion within your legal department, and what initiatives have you implemented to foster a more inclusive and equitable work environment?

I strongly support open communication and have promoted a work environment where every team member feels valued and respected. In the legal department we have a team of professionals of different ages and with different skills, which is an advantage because it offers a wide range of ideas.

We have established a hybrid work schedule to improve work-life balance.

The company offers all employees the opportunity to develop their knowledge and skills relevant to the execution of their work.
