Othelia Langner is the regional legal director supporting Johnson & Johnson’s pharmaceutical business in South Africa and Sub-Saharan Africa, as well as its global public health organisation. After starting her career in private practice, Othelia gained experience working at a top London law firm in financial markets legal, as well as spending time working in Moscow, Russia, and Almaty, Kazakhstan. In 2010, she returned to South Africa where she worked in corporate commercial M&A with a focus on the mining sector in Africa and Central Asia.

Since 2017, Othelia has been working in-house for companies at the forefront of the healthcare and life sciences sector. This includes five years at the world’s largest medical device manufacturer, Medtronic, where she was the recipient of various regional and global awards. She then took up her current role at J&J, the world’s largest healthcare company. She is recognised as a leader and a partner to the business, combining strong legal knowledge with a strategic, practical approach to provide innovative, solution-oriented advice that also addresses ethical and compliance risks. Othelia strives for continuous growth, with a strong desire to make a positive impact in the world.
