The Vietnamese subsidiary of British multinational insurance giant Aviva, Aviva Vietnam started out as Vietinbank Aviva Insurance Company, a joint venture between the Aviva Group and Vietinbank. In April 2017, Aviva Group officially completed the acquisition of the remaining 50% stake in the joint venture and established Aviva Vietnam with the mission to bring the best financial solutions and financial peace of mind for customers in Vietnam market. The legal team at the company is said to have played an integral role in the acquisition by a number of nominating sources. Shortly after the research for this publication was completed, Viet Nguyen Tien departed as general counsel, however the legal function still benefits from the expertise of other gifted in-house lawyers such as legal executive Thân Văn Tặng.
