The culture of the legal team is supportive, inclusive, approachable and high achieving. Our legal team functions so well because we are happy to help each other with workload and provide guidance when needed.
I essentially work across three functions: Investor relations, AFAP legal, and company secretarial. My responsibilities vary from supporting with financial results preparation, ad-hoc analyst work, preparing presentations and focusing on the topic of sustainability and ESG within the investor relations team, to assisting Amcor Flexibles Asia Pacific legal with contract drafting, reviews and advisory work, being responsible for the ANZ subsidiary entity compliance and assisting with the broader Amcor Flexibles Asia Pacific regions compliance.
I am proud of the updates I was able to make to our modern slavery statement last year and hope to make further headways this year. From a contribution standpoint, I feel I am now much more confident in relation to reviewing contracts for the business and have more confidence in advising on certain points without having to double check myself to see which better aids the business. From an experience standpoint, the trip to Singapore to assist with the contract management training with the regional sales team was invaluable. Not only from the perspective of being able to meet different people from across the business and countries in person, but also as a learning on how our work is utilised on the ground by the teams. Plus, it was my first experience with public speaking.
