Career Biography

Cristina Alvarez has held significant roles at Cintra Spain and Cintra USA (Ferrovial). She served as the Head of Legal Department – North America from 2006 to 2014, where she led the operations of the Cintra’s North American legal department, recruited and led a multinational team of lawyers, and administered bidding for new projects. Currently, she is the Head of Legal Department – Europe since 2014, managing in-house lawyers across various European subsidiaries, leading M&A processes and overseeing legal strategies for major lawsuits. 

Alvarez has also worked at Cuatrecasas in Madrid and Bilbao as a Senior Associate, representing clients in M&A transactions and strategic partnerships. She gained extensive expertise in sale and purchase agreements, joint venture agreements, and merger transactions. Additionally, while in Cuatrecasas, she served on secondment at the Herbert Smith Law Firm’s London office, gaining familiarity with common law and capital market transactions.
