Bio

Rodrigo Fuentes is the Director of People, Organisation, and General Secretary at AXA Spain. A member of the executive committee since 2019, Rodrigo is a legal professional with over 25 years of experience.

He began his career at Deloitte as a Corporate and M&A lawyer, where he participated in numerous national and cross-border transactions across various sectors, with a particular focus on the financial industry. He also specialised in complex financing and refinancing processes.

In 2014, he joined AXA as General Counsel for AXA’s Mediterranean Region, overseeing legal matters in Latin America, Iberia, the Gulf, Turkey, and Africa. In this role, he led legal teams across multiple countries and managed M&A transactions, including market entries, divestments, bancassurance agreements, and joint ventures, as well as handling major litigation and legal cases for the region.

In 2019, he became General Secretary of AXA Spain, leading the company’s control functions. In 2024, he was appointed Director of People, Organisation, and General Secretary, expanding his responsibilities to include HR management, organisational leadership, legal advisory, corporate governance, and board secretarial duties.

Rodrigo holds a Law degree from the University of Deusto, a master’s in legal Advisory from IE Business School, and serves as an adjunct professor at various academic institutions and professional organisations.
