Marie Wohlfahrt
Vice president and general counsel | SAS
SAS is the largest regional and international airline connecting Scandinavia with the rest of the world with over 13,000 destinations and is part of the Star Alliance Group. Marie Wohlfahrt, vice president and general counsel of the company, has several years of experience advising the company having first joined SAS in 1999 as a senior legal counsel. Progressing through the business and being promoted to her current role in February 2015, Wohlfahrt brings her considerable expertise and good judgment to her management of the legal team, and combines this managerial remit with oversight of all legal matters for SAS. As general counsel Wohlfahrt commands great responsibility for the legal affairs of the company including managing all legal issues around regulations, new aircraft, partnership agreements, staff and all commercial arrangements. For example, in July 2018 SAS announced that it will compensate through investments in clean energy all carbon accrued by travellers on its “youth tickets” available to passengers aged 12 to 26. Before joining SAS, Wohlfahrt worked in the Svea Hovratt Court of Appeal in Stockholm and at Linklaters as a lawyer in its law practice until moving in-house, first at Amadeus Scandanavia.
