After training at Linklaters where he became an associate at the firm, Mikael Green moved to the in-house legal sector, first with Carnegie Investments in 2009 and then in 2015 moved to banking giant Nordea as a regulatory expert. His experience and nous regarding regulatory affairs was recognised in 2017 when he undertook the role of senior regulatory expert, and from February 2018 has been acting head of regulatory implementation. Nordea is one of the top ten banks in the Nordic region and is traded on the Copenhagen, Stockholm and Helsinki stock exchanges. As the acting head of regulatory, Green is involved in all legal affairs involved in M&A and compliance matters for the bank. For example, Nordea has agreed with Gjensidige Bank to acquire all of their shares and enact a complete takeover, hugely increasing Nordea’s reach into the Norwegian market as well, and a mutual distribution agreement in Norway.
