Employed by the listed Swedish retailer ICA Gruppen since 2013, Per Behm serves as general counsel and leads the company’s response to all relevant legal matters. He has an excellent knowledge of group operations across all business units, having previously spent time as general counsel for subsidiary company ICA. ICA Gruppen focuses on the groceries industry, including its ICA Sweden and Rimi Baltic brands, but also has financial and banking services, pharmaceutical and home decoration entities. This requires versatility and knowledge of different practice areas, and thanks to his strong experience and skills in negotiation, international law, competition law and dispute resolution, Behm is recognised as being able to mitigate risk and secure business growth. Behm has been actively involved in all major structural transactions within the group since 2003. In May 2018, ICA Gruppen (via its subsidiary ICA Sweden) completed negotiations on a cooperation agreement with British e-commerce company Ocado, to use Ocado’s online platform and software for its e-commerce picking warehouses. The preparation and advice sought from the legal counsels within Behm´s department during this time was crucial in securing this landmark deal for the company.
