Sofia Frändberg is executive vice president of group legal and compliance and general counsel of Volvo Group, Sweden’s iconic automotive, aeronautical and nautical vehicle, engine, and other transportation manufacturer. Her role involves ensuring that Volvo products are compliant with the myriad of regulations in the automotive industry, upholding Volvo’s reputation for quality and safety, as well as innovation. For example, in June 2018 Volvo signed a deal to provide electric busses to the city of Gothenburg, demonstrating its commitment to innovation and adapting to new technologies, as well as highlighting the kind of work that Frändberg is involved in to implement the company’s strategy. Currently serving as secretary to the board, a position she has held since April 2013, Frändberg first joined the business as a corporate legal counsel in 1994, and has been responsible for legal compliance and general legal matters for the Group since 1998.
