A leading international digital entertainment company, MTG is a Stockholm-based organisation that has a diverse range of interests in the production, sale and broadcasting of entertainment. In 2019 the company announced the finalisation of the separation between MTG and Nordic Entertainment Group, leading Nordic Entertainment Group to be listed as a separate company on the Nasdaq Nordic Large Cap list of companies. This process, which saw MTG split into two companies, saw the company’s legal team assist with the distribution of all shares in Nordic Entertainment Group to MTG’s shareholders, and the listing of these shares on the Stockholm Stock Exchange. Amongst the company’s other most notable recent activities, in July 2019 it announced a substantial investment of US$11m in a number of gaming and eSports start-ups, looking to secure a strong position in the growing market of eSports that is in-line with its strong heritage of capitalising on industry trends and consumer behaviour. The legal team is led by Johan Levinsson, MTG’s group general counsel, who was appointed to this position in May 2018 after working as MTG’s head of legal for M&A and corporate legal affairs, evincing the strong talent and internal meritocracy that exists within the department.
