Nick Raymond has progressed through different areas of the flagship insurance group, and world’s second largest reinsurer, over his 13 year tenure, playing a pivotal role in the corporate reorganisation and the evolvement of the business. The variety and diversity of his role is self-evident, as he manages areas of finance, collateral management, disclosure and regulatory insurance. The financial crisis of 2008-09 posed huge challenges for Raymond and his legal department but also provided an opportunity through which he could show his value by negotiating his way through the uncertainty and keeping abreast of regulatory change – matters he still deals with to this day. Prior to joining Swiss Re he served as an associate for Clifford Chance.
