Béranger Pène is the general counsel at Nestrade, Nestlé Group’s global procurement arm.
Alongside a team of 15 legal professionals based in four locations worldwide – Switzerland, Kuala Lumpur, Panama, Barcelona – Beranger leads procurement support for services, direct and indirect materials, including agricultural commodities, packaging, renewable energy, technical equipment, IT, and media and marketing content.
With laser focus on business continuity and limiting the impact of inflation whilst optimising the company’s working capital, Béranger has been instrumental in steering Nestlé’s global supply chains through turbulent times.
A champion of diversity and talent development, Béranger has nurtured a strong and diverse team. He continuously seeks new ways to improve operations, through digitalisation and new communication channels, positioning his team as an enabler for Nestlé’s success.
Béranger’s recent accomplishments include the creation of a dedicated dispute management practice within the procurement department to protect and bring value to the business; the implementation of enhanced trade secret protections within Nestlé operations; and support to the implementation of Nestlé’s ESG roadmap.
Béranger Pène has over a decade of experience and qualifications from The US and France, including an LL.M. in International Business, Trade and Tax Law from the University of San Diego, and a Masters in Business and Economics Law from the Université Côte d’Azur. Before joining Nestlé, he was worked for Louis Dreyfus Company, a market-leader in global merchandising of agricultural commodities.
Outside of work, Béranger enjoys spending quality time with his family, hiking, and skiing in the wonderful Swiss outdoors.
