Group chief legal officer, Nicolas Burgener, leads the legal function at luxury watch-making manufacturer Audemars Piguet. The team is made up of eight lawyers and one data protection officer whose daily activities include dealing with M&A, joint-ventures, corporate law, competition law, intellectual property, sponsoring, distribution, labour law, legal compliance and privacy matters. The majority of the legal team have over 15 years of post-qualified experience and benefits from previous work experience abroad which is key to anticipate issues and exposures internationally. The team has been central to the organisation achieving a stellar portfolio in the watchmaking and jewellery arena.
