Included in previous editions of the GC Powerlist: Switzerland, the in-house legal team at the leading global fragrance and flavour maker Givaudan continues to impress internal colleagues and external peers, demonstrating strong skills in key areas. With guidance from the legal team, the company opened a new innovation centre in Zurich in June 2019 as part of a CHF120m investment. Additionally, the company acquired the Vietnamese flavour company Golden Frog in May 2019, as part of the companies’ 2020 strategy to expand its production in the Asia Pacific, with consultation of the in-house legal team. In a busy year so far, the team also gained praise for their contribution on Givaudan’s 2019 acquisitions of cosmetics business AMSilk and Albert Vieille , a French company specialised in natural ingredients used in the fragrance and aromatherapy markets.
