The legal team of Semtech’s Swiss subsidiary deals with all legal matters for the company’s entities in Europe and Asia, ensures compliance with corporate governance requirements in each jurisdiction, as well as negotiating and executing commercial, development, employment and licensing agreements worldwide. In 2018, with substantial contribution from the legal department, Semtech announced the settlement of a lawsuit against HiLight and related defendants, in accordance with which Semtech was to be paid approximately US$9m to cover damages for claims, costs and attorneys’ fees.
