Stragen Pharma is an international, privately held healthcare company focused on the development, registration and worldwide distribution of pharmaceutical specialities for women’s health, hospital supplies, consumer health products and new patented molecules. The legal team is based at the headquarters in Geneva and handles all legal and compliance matters for the whole group, on a worldwide basis. Composed of four lawyers, two paralegals, the legal team covers a range of topics including intellectual property, portfolio management, compliance in data protection and litigation. ‘These areas are split among the lawyers of the team, with back-up positions to ensure business continuity’, says head of legal and compliance Héloïse Deliquiet. The paralegals handle all CDAs, powers of attorneys, letters of authorisations, and support the lawyers in the IP portfolio management as well as the company’s secretary, board of directors and general assemblies. The legal team also works closely with the finance department on intercompany agreements, tax issues and risk management. ‘We interact on a day-to-day basis with all other corporate departments, such as regulatory, quality, development, sales and supply’, Deliquiet explains. The team prides itself in promoting a team culture of mutual aid, commitment and kindness: ‘Each person has a clear role and responsibility but we’re always ready to help each other, with strong delegation and fluent communication among members of the team’, says Deliquiet.
