Vice president and general counsel | Arca Continental/Coca-Cola Southwest Beverages
Joseph McCoin
Vice president and general counsel | Arca Continental/Coca-Cola Southwest Beverages
Joseph serves as Vice President and General Counsel of Arca Continental/Coca-Cola Southwest Beverages. He is a graduate of The McCallie School and received a bachelor’s degree from Columbia University and a law degree from Vanderbilt University. Prior to joining CCSWB, he was a member at Miller & Martin PLLC in Chattanooga and held a series of roles with The Coca-Cola Company in Atlanta. He also served as an adjunct professor at Lee University, the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, and the University of Tennessee College of Law.
Joseph serves on the board of directors for the Dallas Regional Chamber and supports AC/CCSWB’s work with the American Beverage Association. He also supports the McCallie Alumni Association. Joseph, his wife Elizabeth, and their sons Mac (student at the University of Tennessee) and Charles (student at St. Mark’s School of Texas) reside in Dallas, Texas.
Joseph began assembling AC/CCSWB’s legal department in 2017 when Arca Continental became the first Latin American company in the Coca-Cola system to acquire bottling territory in the United States. Under his direction, he has shifted the perception of in-house counsel by ensuring that legal team members are embedded in their clients’ work routines. This “embedded role” goes beyond risk mitigation and adds value in day-to-day transactions by addressing the challenges faced by the company’s frontline heroes who produce, warehouse, deliver, and sell beverages.
Joseph is part of an executive team that has helped deliver record sales volume and double earnings from the company’s inception, achieving more than seven years of consecutive EBITDA growth. He helps steward relationships and obligations with AC/CCSWB’s customers, supply chain, and brand partners (i.e., Coca-Cola, Dr Pepper, and Monster). Joseph is also involved with long-term strategic initiatives on behalf of Arca Continental, including M&A and risk management.
