What are the most significant cases or transactions that your legal team has recently been involved in?   

TCC Assets is a holding company that invests in the real estate business through its subsidiaries and affiliated companies. One of our notable projects is One Bangkok — a mega scale mixed-use development project situated in the heart of Bangkok.  As the legal team of TCC Assets, we have run through all aspects of legal parts relating to the negotiation and contracting for the land project.  These contracts were particularly complex and involved numerous legal challenges.  Given the long term of contracts, it required a tightening and promising degree of precision and diligence.  Despite the challenges, my team and I have successfully completed the project, resulting in great pride to be a part of this project.   

How do you see the general counsel role evolving in Thailand over the next 5-10 years? 

It is undeniable that technology and AI are playing a crucial role in all segments of businesses and organisations, including the legal sector.  The role of the general counsel must evolve to endorse modern technologies and AI advancements.  By leveraging these technologies, such as using data analytics to conclude transactions, the legal team can work more efficiently, accurately, and quickly.  This leads to greater benefits and the potential to downsize the team while maintaining effectiveness over the next 5-10 years.  For instance, AI can simulate case strategies, analyse potential outcomes, and assess the likelihood of winning or losing a case.  These tools will simplify work processes and save time significantly. 

The role of the general counsel needs to evolve rapidly alongside the advancements in technology and AI. It is essential to consistently integrate technology and AI into the legal team’s operations to enhance efficiency.  Everyone should be able to work effectively from anywhere and at any time, maintaining the same level of productivity as in the office.  

How do you motivate and manage your team well? 

We make sure our team is aware of our vision and the ultimate goals which are in line with the company policy. We share our visions and establish clear goals. Moreover, we maintain effective two-way communication with our team, ensuring everyone stays updated on tasks and requirements to be done. We also regularly organise team-building activities and provide opportunities for our team. Furthermore, we reward hard-work and provide opportunities for professional growth and development.
