German based energy giant, EWE, entered the Turkish gas market in 2007, establishing itself as the first and largest international investor in the market, with more than 850 employees and a consolidated turnover of TRY 2.14bn recorded in 2014. That same year, the company employed legal manager Ruşen Gürlük Yarpınar to provide legal assistance to its further growth plans. She has facilitated the company’s progression by leading all of EWE Turkey’s M&A transactions including recent acquisitions of telecommunications and solar companies and setting up joint ventures. Yarpınar has also been commended internally for her ability to communicate and work closely with senior figures. Besides advising C-level executives and the board of directors at EWE Turkey with respect to strategic transactions, she liaises with relevant departments in Turkey and Germany to protect the company against legal risks.
