Covering the emerging markets in Turkey, Bulgaria and Romania, the legal team at adidas Turkey is led by Ugur Degirmenci who serves the German multinational sportswear manufacturer as legal and compliance director and a member of its compliance leadership team. In addition to the vast array of products that the team help to get to market, the team has negotiated marketing deals to facilitate the company’s involvement in major international sporting events such as the Olympics and UEFA European Championships. In 2014, the team secured an extension until 2019 on its sponsorship agreement with Fenerbahçe S.K., one of Turkey’s most popular sports clubs. Upholding corporate responsibility, the team is currently involved in making sure their factories in Turkey comply with internationally-recognised human rights standards.
