ALJ Holding has established an extensive operation which includes 10 subsidiaries across a range of sectors in Turkey. At the helm of a dynamic team of five in Turkey Group– including three other lawyers (Hakan Kopaner as the lawyer in Toyota Türkiye Pazarlama A.Ş; Neslihan Tellioğlu as the lawyer and Macide Tok as the legal manager in ALJ Finansman A.Ş.) and one non-lawyer (Sema Esmaoğlu as the legal operations assistant specialist in ALJ Finansman A.Ş.) – senior legal officer Mirac Ucankale Yuce oversees the company’s legal activities in Turkey, covering a diverse collection of business activities including automotive (Toyota Distributor), spare parts, finance, insurance and construction. For a company with such a large portfolio, it is integral that all elements cooperate to maximise the commercial possibilities for ALJ Holding. Yuce was able to circumvent this challenge by first formulating an effective method for the legal team to improve its interaction with the whole holding company, and then circulating this method to the managers in all of ALJ Holding’s subsidiaries. The result was a harmonisation of all the group’s companies. Each company is independent within their own organisation and they report the business activities to her. Reporting to both the international group chief legal counsel and the group CEO in Turkey, offers a strong avenue for Yuce and the team to remain in-the-know of ALJ’s strategic objectives.
