The Anadolu Group is a multinational and entrepreneurial group that has grown through partnerships with leading international brands including SABMiller, The Coca-Cola Company, McDonald’s, Kia, Lombardini and Honda. Cesur Kilinç, general counsel, heads a legal team of six lawyers at the holding level of the Anadolu Group in Turkey, with a further total of 25 lawyers throughout the group’s subsidiaries. The team has been responsible for a number of domestic and international M&A transactions, reviewing and negotiating the material contracts, conducting major litigation and dealing with applications for trademarks. As an example of their influence within the wider group, the legal function coordinates and determines legal strategies for the subsidiary legal departments. With over 700 domestic and over 500 international registered trademarks, a key function of the legal team is managing the holding company’s brand protection strategies and related litigation; they also facilitate its ambition to create and acquire successful brands, making them leaders in their respective markets.
