Established in 1994 as a joint venture between Hyundai Motor Company of South Korea and Kibar Holding of Turkey, Hyundai Assan is one of the leading car manufacturers in Turkey. Under the stewardship of Dr Ozge Ay, the legal team has made significant contributions to Hyundai Assan in recent years, particularly in the field of labour and employment law. Hyundai Assan’s lawyers played a key role in advising and supporting the human resources department in its response to new labour laws. The team has also been heavily involved in handling litigation before the Turkish commercial courts, intellectual property courts, administrative courts and labour courts. The team was active in drafting, negotiating and reviewing various agreements for the company with domestic and international business partners and suppliers. In 2016 alone, the department has assisted the company release of its second-generation i10 small car and, in a separate deal, supplying vehicles to the Turkish police.
