The legal team in Turkey is no exception to this global work ethic. Under the guardianship of legal director Işık Soydan, who has been in the role since 2007, Pfizer’s legal team in Istanbul has been performing admirably for a number of years on a range of complex matters, and in a range of practice areas. In the words of a nominating lawyer: ‘I have considerable respect for Soydan and her professionalism, passion for work, commitment and integrity. Being the first face of the team, Soydan is always approachable and effectively works with all members of our team’. Most recently, Pfizer Turkey has taken a strong supporting role in Turkey’s current strategic development plan by localising the production of their Prix Galien winning Prevnar vaccine, which is designed to prevent the spread of pneumococcal bacteria. Now with a Prevnar facility in Istanbul, the Turkish legal team finds itself in regular partnership with Turkey’s government to establish agreements which will prove valuable for both the company and the Turkish people. In addition, the legal team’s creative methods have allowed it to simultaneously meet Turkey’s regulations so as to afford the company as much exposure as possible.
