Leading Turkish food and beverages conglomerate Yıldız Holding has been operating in Turkey for the past 70 years. Global legal affairs president Ibrahim Flood spearheads a legal department which handles the affairs of some 65 companies within the group. The team has worked closely with the business in recent years on a series of key global acquisitions including its purchase of United Biscuits, a British company, in 2014 which saw Yıldız Holding became the third largest cookie company in the world. Nominators point to the team’s involvement in the company’s reorganisation of its global brands – De Met’s, Godiva, United Biscuits and Ülker – under the Pladis umbrella, forming a new global giant with annual revenue of over $5bn and 26,000 employees. Having established itself as a real asset to the business, the team looks set yet again to facilitate the company’s growth after plans to invest $1.7bn in Turkey by 2021 were announced.
