Fibabanka is a private bank in Turkey, established through the acquisition of the Turkish arm of Millennium Banco Comercial Português by Turkish businessman Hüsnü Özyeğin in 2010. Led by general counsel and corporate secretary Gerçek Önal, Fibabanka’s internal legal department has been at the heart of the bank’s most important deals. The legal team works very closely with the CEO and senior management, forming an integral part of the discussions and thought-processes regarding both strategic decisions and Fibabanka’s main operations. The team is deeply involved in all legal aspects of the bank’s new deals in a broad range of sectors while working with various business teams of the group, providing consistency throughout the deals achieved by the bank.
