Özlem Akyüz Atamer leads the in-house legal team at Kale Holding, which is made up of four lawyers and one non-lawyer, and divided into separate corporate, litigation and employment departments. The team also manages a panel of 30 outsourced lawyers. The litigation department covers all law suites, debts and claims of the Holding’s companies, and mediation in Turkey. Harun Solmaz is responsible for this division and expertly conducts any litigation as well as oversees outsourced counsels. The corporate department provides legal and contractual solutions to all the business units of the holdings company. It manages and negotiates commercial contracts with customers, distributors, suppliers and partners; advises on the impact of legal developments on business trading activities; drives up standards of commercial and legal awareness in companies; ensures through training, the standardisation of terms and conditions in contracts; provides legal advice on projects and foreign investments; manages the trademarks of the companies and pursues law suits against foreign companies. Aysegul Okyay Peker deftly leads this division with the support of Hakan Haraç and external counsels. Across the group the legal team has implemented new online contract management technology and new ways of working to increase effectiveness and continue providing a top class service.
