Founded in 2000 with the aim of investing in electricity production from renewable energy resources, Polat Enerji has since taken under operation eight wind power plants and become one of the biggest wind power plant investors in Turkey. Led by general counsel, Dr Burak Kepkep, the legal department assists the procurement and business development teams on the day-to-day operations which include facilitating construction for the development of wind energy projects. It also expertly attends to contractual matters relating to projects and continue to liaise with public authorities such as EMRA (Energy Market Regulatory Authority of Turkey) and various administrative offices to ensure the acquisition of land usage rights for wind solar power projects and domestic compliance matters. Amongst these projects, are renewable energy investment plans to protect the environment with the reduction of greenhouse gas emission, adding to the company philosophy of leaving the next generation a legacy of sustainability.
