First, can you please give us an idea of the sort of work your team has done recently (cases, transactions, projects)? Please mark anything confidential clearly.

One of the biggest challenges we have faced lately has been to create a compliance department within our company. We have come a long way with regulating our compliance policies and the revision of procedures. Additionally, since our company is a procurement outsourcing and supply chain management organisation, it is a daily part of our business to draw up a considerable number of purchasing contracts and conduct risk assessments on both the customers and suppliers’ sides. Last year we managed to settle one important legal dispute (with a high amount of compensation) in our favour, avoiding a lawsuit.

Which recent political, economic, or regulatory changes have impacted the company and the team the most?

The Covid 19 outbreak has brought a high degree of uncertainty for companies operating in purchasing and supply chain management. We were able to establish durable and flexible systems in the supply chain and increase the use of our digital platforms by developing collaborative processes. In 2021, our company made great investments in technology aimed at encountering the demands of our customers. Legal support has been essential in the renewal processes of our customer and supplier cooperation portal — Zer Portal and Loji-Portal, which offer end-to-end tracking in logistics processes and our online order management solution ZerOnline, which required great effort from our side.

What do you think are the biggest risks facing your industry now and how are you preparing your company and team to face these risks?

Uncertainty and risks associated with the pandemic continue to exist. Our company will continue to build relationships of trust with customers and suppliers in the upcoming period. The legal department will keep providing support in all processes by managing risks, cooperating with business partners, and adapting to the ever-changing environment and priorities.
