Ertugrul Onur is the chief legal officer, chief ethic and compliance officer and company secretary of Coca-Cola İçecek. Coca-Cola İçecek is an anchor bottler and a part of the Coca-Cola System that produces, distributes and sells sparkling and still beverages in 11 countries. He has 33 years of experience in the profession.

He has been with CCI for over fifteen years and from his base in Istanbul provides legal advice for all aspects of its operations and manages legal function. Onur’s advice in his current role regarding CCI is of a diverse and comprehensive nature and enables the company to serve a customer base of 430 million people with 30 plants and more than 10,000 employees in eleven countries. He is leading a team of 45 in house counsel in Turkiye, Middle East and Central Asia countries as well as Pakistan.

Onur has developed a reputation in the Turkish in-house legal market through a variety of roles at notable global companies, providing counsel to assist with the respective companies’ plans in Turkiye and the region. Mr. Onur served as legal counsel for Mobil Oil Türk and BP Petrolleri between 1995 and 2000. He was elected and worked as BP Turkiye employee representative at BP Europe employee council member and BP Europe employee council link committee member.

Onur also served as a member of the board of directors, vice-president, chairperson at the Ethics and Reputation Association of Turkey (“TEID”). He is a lecturer on ethics and compliance matters at TEID Academy. He has been recently awarded with the Honorary Membership of Ethics and Reputation Society of Turkiye.

Onur has sound judgment and reasoning along with excellent project management abilities including management of resources, time, budgets and scope, and he is never intimidated by the challenges or complex tasks at hand. He has been involved in many expansion projects, transactions, M&A activities, bond issuances, compliance programmes, litigation, competition law related matters and investigations.
